Who are Senior Guitar Sessions for?
Senior Guitar Sessions are guitar lessons for adults, geared towards those that are 18 years of age and older.
The main way that senior sessions differ from junior sessions is purely within the content of the lesson that we will explore. In senior sessions, we can of course learn your favourite songs, guitar solos and licks. But the real goal is to transcend that.
How do these sessions work?
Oftentimes, senior guitarists within the JP School of Contemporary Guitar feel as though learning songs simply isn’t enough. They want to go deeper. They want to learn how a song is put together. Senior guitarists don’t just want to simply learn their favourite licks. They want to go beyond rote knowledge and understand the theoretical concepts of why, and how, the lick works. Senior learners aspire to be better and achieve more each, and every week.
It is often the case that senior guitarists have a lifetime goal of learning a certain song, or mastering a certain technique. Sometimes the goal is to simply learn an instrument that they have always dreamed of playing!

It is my belief that the moment you pick up a guitar, the moment you make a musical sound, you are a musician. You may have huge aspirations, but you don’t necessarily need them. It is plenty enough to want to be able to play – and simply enjoy – arguably the most iconic instrument in the world today. With the right learning strategy, some desire, and some determination, anything is possible.
Whatever your goal or experience of music, together, we will work to enable a next-level understanding and creativity within your playing. We will enrich your musical ability and enable a much greater level of skill and knowledge with your instrument. You can enjoy tuition in a bespoke teaching space in Rastrick, Halifax. Or, subject to availability, I may be able to travel to you.
